Consultant to Gloscat, Cheltenham, to establish a Microsoft IT Academy and VUE testing centre.  Delivery of MOC and Comptia courses to industry candidates.

Set up IT training company with specific focus on re-training armed forces personnel leaving the service.  Responsible for designing and delivering training on server and workstation products from Microsoft, specifically Windows 2000 and non vendor products from the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).  Established the company as a Microsoft Certified Partner and a VUE authorised testing centre. 

Principal Instructor for the following subjects: 

  • A+ Certification (PC Hardware and Operating Systems support)
  • Windows 2000 MCSE, 4 core requirements and Exchange 2000
  • IT Security

IT support specialist for LAN installations in various companies including design, installation and implementation, planning and configuration of Active Directory and staged rollout from NT4 to Windows 2000.  Support of end users on desktop systems and remote server administration.

  • 1993 – 1999 Project Team Leader on the £2Bn project BOWMAN, future communications system for the armed forces.  Responsible for ensuring the reliability and maintainability criteria were met by the prime contractor, as specified in the BOWMAN project requirements, by applying the principals of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).  IT manager for the Field Communications Support Group.
  • 1990 – 1993 Telecommunications workshop manager.  Responsible for the organisation, supervision and control of the combined military/civilian workforce. The development and implementation of standard procedures and to assess and advise on the requirements for test and repair equipments.
