Server 2000.
Skills and Abilities
I have experience of .Net versions 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 (Including
ADO.NET, ASP.NET) programming in both VB.NET and C#, SQL Server
2000 and SQL Server 2005 (including design, stored procedures,
triggers etc), XML (Web services, SOAP XML-DOM, COM+, XSL), VBA,
VBScript, Java 2, JavaScript, C++, UML.
I have excellent knowledge of the Sage APIs’ for Line 50, MMS
and good knowledge of ACT and SalesLogix.

Consultant/Director - [snip]
In November 2006, I started my own company to allow me to
work as an I.T. consultant. I provide a service to small
businesses that cannot afford or justify employing a full-time
I.T. department or persons. I will support and administrate
their I.T. infrastructure, write custom software and
recommend/source I.T. equipment and software for them. I am also
willing to undertake short term contract software development
work.
• Responsibilities: Liaise with customers and analyse
their current I.T. infrastructure to determine where
improvements can be made. Implement any recommendations for the
customer and continually monitor, support and administrate their
infrastructure. Ensure both ourselves and our customers are
aware of and comply with legislation.
• Skills needed: Good communication skills, ability for
unsupervised working either alone or in a small team.
• Microsoft Certification, .NET skills and SQL Server 2000 /

Developer – [snip]
Working as a software developer, my role was primarily to
integrate custom software solutions into the Sage line of
business software, including Line 50, MMS, ACT and SalesLogix. I
was also involved in building standalone custom software
solutions for customers.
• Responsibilities: Liaise with customers to discover
their exact requirements. Put together a proposal outlining a
solution and how the solution meets their needs and how it would
integrate into their existing systems. Design and build the
database and objects required for the solution and finally
implement and test the solution with the customers existing
systems. I would also be involved in training the customer’s
employees.
• I was responsible for supporting and administrating our own
I.T. infrastructure including all servers, computers, networks
and websites. I was also responsible in buying I.T. equipment
for our own needs.

Maintenance Technician – [snip] Grangemouth
Working as an analyser maintenance technician, I am
responsible for the maintenance of the analysers for the
Ethylene cracker plant.
• Responsibilities: Maintain and maximise availability of
plant analyser systems, including instrument, electrical,
electronic and mechanical systems.
• Liase with chemical engineers, manufacturers and suppliers on
any problems/issues with the analysers.
• Responsible for supporting and maintaining the Analyser
Departments I.T. infrastructure, including servers, desktop
computers and network.

• HNC and NVQ electrical and electronic engineering.
• Achievements/Improvements made: Supervised the replacement of
analysers. Planned and supervised the replacement of gas
supplies. Wrote the operation manuals for all plant analysers.
