Projects

 v  Master Thesis

Title                An analysis and systematic approach for new manufacturing line.

Abstract                   This Project is a part of launching a new automated manufacturing line for tilt casting of Volvo’s spring link. The aim of the project is to analyse the flow of material and production capacity, with considering downtime and utilization of resources by implementing Lean production system.

IDEF0, a conceptual design tool is used for initial study and as communication tool. Extend V6 (Discrete event simulation software) is used to analyse and optimize the manufacturing line processes with 2D animation.

The project also includes various scenario analyses such as,

·         Identification of place of buffers and bottlenecks in the process.

·         Optimisation of material flow in melting furnace and heat treatment by considering part flow in other manufacturing lines.

·         Capacity analysis of drying furnace for high volume of scraps like feeder, gate system and cast defects to drying furnace.
