Objective:

To obtain a full-time internship/job related to mechanical, materials or these two disciplines combined area. Have got academic background on both mechanical engineering and material science.

Education:

2005.9-2006.9             MSc Material for Industry, Loughborough University (Results:2.1)

Modulus studied include: Automotive Materials, Surface Analysis, Materials Modelling, Characterisation of Polymers, Chemical Surface Processes, Successful Management Practice, Packaging Design, Fracture and Failure, Environmental Issues and Industrial Materials, Plastics Processing, Properties and Applications, Ceramics: Properties and Processing

Project: “Preparation and Characterization Dielectromagnetic Composites based on Ferrites and Ferromagnetic metal powders” (result: 66% equivalent to UK 2.1)

The aims of the project are:

1. Make the Zn-Mn ferrite sample by first synthesizing ferrite powder using co-precipitation method and followed by traditional ceramic sintering.

2. Investigate the effect copper in ferrite used as sintering agent.

3. Prepare SMC by coating the Zn-Mn ferrite on the soft iron powder. The product should show high electrical resistivity, high mechanical strength and good magnetic property.

Independent project work has developed my analytical thought, presentation skills, technical writing skills and ability to manage projects effectively.

2004.9-2005.7             Materials Engineering (equivalent to final year in undergraduate study), Loughborough-China Materials Partnership Programme, Loughborough (Results: 2.1)

Modulus studied include: Materials in Service, Materials processing, Design and Manufacture with Ceramic

Final year project: Heat treatment of iron powders by mechano fused with nano sized oxide powders (result: 65% equivalent to UK 2.1)

The initial program of work of the project is to process soft iron powders coated with various metal oxides and measure resistivity and flexural strength. A number of processes to coat iron powder is carried out and after compacting the coated iron powder to make a beam, the materials properties including resistivity and flexural strength are examined. These are compared with the original soft iron powder, to ensure higher resistivity and flexural strength is obtained.

Developed the technical writing skills, along with presentation and communication skills.

2001.9-2004.7             BEng Mechanical Engineering and Designing, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautic (NUAA), China (Results: 2.1)

Modulus studied include: Theoretical Mechanics, Electrical Technique, Electronical Technology, Study of Engineering Material, Computational Methods, Material Mechanics, Mechanics Testing and Error Analysis, Mechanical Theory, Fundamental of Mechanical Vibration, Fundamental of Mechanical Design, Fundamental of Software Technology, Fundamental of CAD/CAM Technology, Project of Mechanical Theory

Broad-based degree in manufacturing with the final year spent studying in Material engineering at Loughborough University, UK

1998-2001        Suzhou Secondary School in Suzhou, Jiang Su, China (equivalent to ‘A’ level standard)
