Developed three new applications on top of the corporate Document Image Processor (DIP) platform for the Prime Brokerage, Stock Lending and Fund Administration business of GS. The applications were built with a Perl CGI-based web GUI with a Sybase backend.

Senior Software Design Engineer:                      May 2002 – Jun 2004

Developed the architecture and designed parts of the new J2EE based network management platform of Nokia. Served as the Java technology mentor within the team and demonstrated strong middleware SW architecture skills. Primary responsibilities were in the area of fault management, providing the blueprints for the EJB tier and the integration points on the EAI tier. The modular design built on reusable components, which were then deployed in several J2EE services. This proved to reduce development and maintenance effort. Used a WebSphere 5 cluster running on RedHat Linux for the app server and WSAD for development.

Task-force Leader:                                              Mar 2002 – Apr 2002

As a leader of a taskforce of 5 engineers ran a project for re-designing the installation framework and applying it to 61 existing installation units. This was a mission critical task, as the product was almost due to delivery, and still numerous faults were being reported during installation testing. In about 8 weeks the work was completed successfully, and the system installed without faults on supported system configurations.

Project Lead:                                                       May 2001 – Feb 2002

Technical project lead to a team of 3 designers who worked on integrating HP OpenView NNM via a 3 tier C++, CORBA and Perl-based application. Wrote the feasibility study, whole architecture, significant part of the design documentation and small part of the implementation. Maintained the PM artefacts during the full SDLC. The deliverables of this 9 month project, divided into 3 increments, were incorporated into OSS3.1 release of NetAct – Nokia’s network management solution for 2.5G and 3G mobile networks.

Software Design Engineer:                                  Oct 1999 – Apr 2001

During the first two years at Nokia Networks site in Düsseldorf I have designed, implemented and tested several modules of the Nokia NetAct product using Java, C++ and Perl.

Software Engineer:

Developing a Java-based universal database-provisioning tool with a small team of three designers. The tool provided read and write access to several JDBC compliant DBMS. The relational schema was converted into a generic object model at runtime by analysing the DB metadata. The tool also generated AWT, Swing and HTML presentations, which allowed reference-based navigation and data modification.

Freelance Software Consultant:
