Summary

 

I am an experienced (30 years) Application Developer of relational database based applications.

In most of my involvements I take project and development responsibility through Project Lifetime stages – Business Analysis,  Specification of Requirements,  Database Tables Design, User Interface Design, Software (Program) Development (employing NTier techniques- Presentation, Business Logic, Data Carrier, Data Access & Stored Procedure levels), Application Deployment and Interfacing with End Users during System Acceptance Testing; followed by ongoing support.

Since late in 2003 I have concentrated on VS.NET 2003 / C# / ASP.NET & WINDOWS FORMS / SQL SERVER 2000 / SQL / T-SQL / SQL REPORTING SERVICES / DTS / IIS development and have so far been involved in  .Net projects which have been conversion developments from

legacy code in Clipper/FiveWin/dBase.

I have personally take responsibility for and delivery of all the following :-

Business Analysis of Application and User Requirements

Systems Design and Specification, Processes Diagramming (multi-project solutions)

Design & Specification of Database Tables, Indexes and Relationships

Development of T-SQL stored procedures & user-defined functions for all data sources

Web page [GUI] design and development (using Visual Studio Webpage designer, HTML code, Javascript, Stylesheets etc)

SQL Reporting Services reports development using stored procedures and parameters

Programmatic rendering of Reports, consuming SQL Reporting Services Web Service

Development of Web Page C# “Code behind” (avoiding embedding any Business Logic)

Print Job Costing and Reporting, shop floor data collection using barcode techniques – now redeveloped by me in VS.Net / C# / SQL / ASP / SQL REPORTING SERVICES / DTS.
Warehouse pallet movement control using barcodes and mobile R.F. terminals – now redeveloped by me in VS.Net / C# / SQL / ASP / SQL REPORTING SERVICES / DTS.

Purchase Orders Tracking and Reporting System.

Archived documents tracking system using barcodes and batch terminals, installed in 2 locations.

Branch address and assets database.

Employed on a freelance basis to assist in completion to initial release of  Windows Forms Product,  TalkingText which is for use by the deaf in communicating with either another TalkingText user or a standard TextPhone. The product uses TAPI for modem communications.

On this project I worked as an assistant VS.Net / C# coder (a team player) rather than having complete responsibility as with the Nationwide work and the product was being converted from the legacy C++ code.

Employed on freelance basis to develop branch displays management system using MS Access '97 / VBA. This was a very complex application calculating the different mix of posters and information leaflets required by branches all with different display stands.
