Responsible for the design and delivery of a consolidated Multi Site geographically dispersed data centre. Platform component responsibilities were 

Highly available storage solution for all operating systems based on multiple HP E XP512Disk Arrays.  Shared storage interconnected by enterprise class Brocade silkworm 12000, additional edge switching and SAN geographic interconnect using Brocade Silkworm 3800 and Cisco DWDM (Deep Wave Division Multiplex).   

Design and implementation of a Highly Available Windows 2000 based data platform providing high speed file and print utilising advanced windows clustering technologies.  

Developed the data management for the newly centralised data; this required the creation and implementation of techniques to control data growth, archiving and prevention of storage of unauthorised materials. 

Highly available backup solution based on multi site, backup and restoration.  ADIC AML/J 12000 slot 12 LTO drive managed and controlled by HP Omniback 4.1 running on clustered HP 9000. 

Highly available database storage solution based on Microsoft SQL server 2000 Enterprise. 

Hardware selection for all defined Windows 2000 server roles.  Delivered fully automated server installation with integrated server hardening.   

The design and implementation of a platform compatible anti virus solution. 

Design and implementation of the nearest print solution; provided connection to printers closest to the client both hardwired and wireless. 

Nov 98 – Oct 99            Global Roll Out Coordinator, HP Consulting (contract)

(Deployed the project throughout South East Asia Pacific and Japan, Taiwan, China & Hong Kong) 

Essentially project management, required to provide 

•                    Process and knowledge transfer to local IT personnel

•                    Communicate planning guidelines to the local IT Manager

•                    Plan the overall local deployment project

•                    Help the local IT Manager to plan the local client deployment, data migration and old mail system shut down

•                    Act as a resource coordinator if/when the local resources are not adequate

Architectural re-design responsibilities for the successful integration of the final solution to meet the particular requirements for China.

 Additionally provided training for the project, Exchange based along with specialization for the software solution devised for the project

Created client deployment kits for Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese operating systems.  Automated the software installation for all clients including English reducing the install time.

Responsible for the design and delivery of systems management platform for a large messaging system.   

Resource scheduling and time management along with technical responsibilies for Backup, Restoration, and Disaster Recovery.   

Required to manage quality of team produced technical documentation, maintain time schedule for the delivery of final documentation.   

Provide direct support to team members throughout the project life cycle and ensure that client expectations were met.

Responsible for network infrastructure development and deployment.  Managed corporate email system and responsible for the migration to Microsoft Exchange.  Technically responsible for 3^rd tier support personnel.
