I am a versatile Project Manager (Prince 2 Practitioner and ITIL Foundation) with experience in a wide range of projects including Infrastructure, Implementation and Development. I have worked in Financial Services, Central Government, Broadcasting, Web-Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and FMCG environments ranging from single UK sites to global businesses. With this range of experience and a very technical background, I can quickly adapt to new environments and technologies.
I have been an independent IT consultant for over ten years and I can offer this wealth of experience to your organisation.

Project Manager

Under the title of Project Manager, I fulfilled many roles during the implementation of a global Anti-Money Laundering system for the [snip] based in their offices in Brussels. This included all business lines (Retail, Wholesale and Insurance) in all areas (Western Europe, Central Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas). I acted, simultaneously, as
• Project Manager for several countrys’ implementations of the system, particularly in Western Europe and Asia Pacific.
• Intake Manager liaising with the Compliance and IT organizations in each country to get the projects started for all business units, ensuring all project initiation documentation was complete and funding in place.
• Technical Manager, liaising with the Infrastructure teams and Application Management in Brussels and the product vendor in Paris for all projects.
• Training Manager, both designing and delivering the training for all projects on the client sites throughout the world and at the centre in Brussels.

Governance Manager.

TREDSS was a large work program to transform the service provided by [snip] to the UK Department of Work and Pensions. This included a wide range of projects including a 160,000 PC hardware refresh, an update to the Intranet infrastructure, an update to the e-mail infrastructure as well as updates to the support and service processes. My role, through [snip], was to ensure each of these projects followed the agreed governance processes, passed the necessary stage reviews and were properly controlled. This role also involved me acting as the secretariat to the Desktop User Group, a committee of senior IT representatives from each of area of the Department.

September 2005-March 2006
Incident Manager
[snip], UK Department of Work and Pensions.

Providing consultancy services to [snip] as part of the successful, World Record breaking, unattended Windows XP desktop rollout to the UK Department of Work and Pensions, my role was the single point of contact for all incidents arising as a consequence of the remote upgrade to Windows XP of 160,000 workstations on 2,300 sites in just 6 months. Having identified the incidents, I then managed them through to resolution. This role also involved me reporting to the daily progress meeting involving senior IT figures within the Department.

Application Delivery Manager

As part of the Platform Transformation Programme, based in Halifax, the conversion of all desktop systems to the Windows XP platform, my role was to project manage the delivery of all applications from initial discovery through assessment and packaging and testing to deployment in the live environment in the Retail, Insurance and Group Services areas in Halifax and Edinburgh. This involved over 500 individual applications from off-the-shelf packages to bespoke, internally developed, finance systems.

[snip] had decided to implement a standard infrastructure across the group based on Windows /Exchange Server 2003 and a Windows XP/Office 2003 desktop. My role was to manage the project from scratch. Using a 3rd party supplier, Ramesys, I managed the installation of the server infrastructure (Windows 2003 cluster servers providing Exchange 2003 and File & Print and a Windows 2003 Outlook Web Access server). I also provided a customised installation of Microsoft Office 2003 and Windows XP, including the facility to connect to Exchange via GPRS.
