Personal Detail

                                                 Career Experience

Feb 2000 to present day ~ XXXX Southampton

At ABP my main role is that of IT Infrastructure Manager, this involves leading a team of 5 technical analysts based in two locations Southampton and Cardiff. The team are responsible for supporting around 520 users, and for implementation of new technology and products to the user base. I am a hands on person and I feel that in this sort of environment it is important that a manager is comfortable with the technology his staff are supporting and working with. I am also responsible for the design and implementation of an ever-expanding network comprising of both LAN and WAN technologies, adequate backup, DR facilities and critical system maintenance cover. My team also provides out of hours support for certain departments within the business.

Another part of my role in the ABP IT department is to run various projects mainly IT implementation in nature, these projects are based around the PRINCE 2 methodology that ABP have adopted and slightly modified to fit in with the group project strategy. I am a qualified PRINCE 2 project manager and have a number of successful projects under my belt.

Ports are potentially an extremely dangerous place and as a result ABP have embarked on an extensive project to train all their managers in Health and safety, as a result of this I am a qualified IOSH Risk Assessor, and have attended the IOSH “Control of Contractors” & “Managing Safely” Course. We regularly perform risk assessments on other departments as a method of keeping our risk assessment skills keen.

The technologies we have in ABP and therefore I am very familiar with are:-

MS Windows 2000& 2003 server

MS Exchange 5.5 & 2003

MS SQL 2000

Bright store product range
