Jiway (cross-border
retail stock exchange) was a 60/40 Partnership between Morgan
Stanley and OM Group. I joined on a consultancy basis basis
(hence the overlap in dates) to provide network and application
consultancy. Due to market conditions the Company’s size could
not be sustained at the levels it found itself and after several
rounds of redundancies OM took sole control. The IT roles
evolved such that I am responsible for IT Support and Projects
to 3 Exchanges. The 3 exchanges are Jiway, OM London Exchange
(Nordic derivatives) and the UK Power Exchange. The support role
is based on a local area and wide area network based on Cisco
routers and switches. Projects include development, planning,
implementation and support of a redundant Swift system, GL Price
Feed, Disaster Recovery site for the 3 exchanges.
