 I have been a computer user since 1982, when I was programming in Sinclair ZX Spectrum's assembly language to develop an analysis of projectile motion application to support my final assignment in physics and gain a Diploma in mathematics and IT. After 11 years of commercial experience, I have a very wide span skill-set in systems design and development on Windows and Linux platforms. Majority of my roles were as a consultant on client sites where I have developed excellent technical and customer facing skills. Last 2 years I have been managing a small consultancy and offshore development company achieving project planning and management skills. I am proficient in all Microsoft operating systems and server applications. I have recently specialised in migrating companies from Windows NT 4 system to Small business Server 2003 including Exchange 5.5 accounts migration to Exchange 2003.

  • NDC is nationwide company with offices in London, Leeds, Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester and Birmingham. Each office had two servers (new server recently installed) and requirement was to decommission the old server and migrate remaining data and services to the new server. The following task were performed for each office:
    • Office network IT infrastructure overview and health check has been performed to record all aspects of the office network
    • Active Directory DNS configuration problem has been fixed and all workstations in the office were updated to the new network configuration
    • Both servers were updated to latest operating system service packs to allow managed removal of the old server form the active directory domain
    • All office printers and plotters have been installed on the new server using latest manufacturers printer drivers
    • All other necessary network services  (DHCP) have been moved from the old to the new Dell server
    • Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition v9  has been deployed as a managed antivirus solution for the offices
    • Leeds and Manchester office were connected with VPN tunnel for secure file exchange between the offices using Draytek Vigor 2600 routers

·         Produced a VB application, which crawls, zips and saves all necessary files from old Win95 workstations and then restores it on the new Windows 2000 clients. The application was a prerequisite for oncoming worldwide rollout of Windows 2000.
