Bid Management, Bid&Risk Methodology development, production of major sales proposals and internal Business case/project proposals. OJEC proposals.  Outsourcing, OGC/CCTA procurements, e-Government, Tender evaluation and management.  Risk and Change Management. Feasibility and product development studies, production of Functional and Requirements Specifications. SLAs. Basic understanding of ITIL. Design, production and editing of promotional literature.  Documents Design. Development and Delivery of training.  

Good general technical knowledge of all aspects of IT Industry from Apple/PCs to Mainframes including communications (LAN/WAN) and database applications, client/server etc.    

Achievements 

Bid Manager for winning Cabinet Office IT Support proposal, also input to bids to Vodafone, Nationwide, Independent Energy, DCSA, MoD. Developed Bid Methodology for RM plc. Project/Risk manager for successful mathsALIVE! Pilot for DfEE/RM plc using PRINCE (20 staff, £2m). Obtained ISO9001 accreditation for Siemens Nixdorf’s ITS Implementations Group (80 staff).   Procurement of bespoke engineer scheduling system (MS-Access Client Server based solution). Implementation of cost/revenue reporting and forecasting procedures. Good track record of delivering to demanding deadlines. 

Published writer of over 200 magazine articles on business, technology, lifestyle, food and drink.  First book (No Fighting in the Kitchen, Hodder and Stoughton) was published in April 1991.  Second book published in 1996 (Business Communications, Butterworth Heinemann).  Third book on Managing Projects published by Butterworth Heinemann in 1997 is a recommended book for the ISEB Project Management Diploma. Fourth book was published by Gower in 2003 (Bid Manager’s Handbook).  Fifth book on Remote Working published by Butterworth Heinemann in 2003. Sixth book to be published by Kogan-Page in June 2005 (Project Disasters). Private Pilot (IMC, Night); Classical Guitarist (Grade 7 standard). Membership Assessor for the BCS. Reasonable French.
