  • Technical Oracle consultant on a project to move a large Oracle database from Tunbridge Wells to Guildford, working with a team of network, UNIX and database administrators to find and remove performance bottlenecks. This involved identifying, reviewing and improving problem code and advising the development team on best practice techniques for future projects (6 months).
  • Technical consultant on a corporate project to roll out Windows XP to all desktops in the company including automated deployment of all software installations using Active Directory. Responsibilities included the design of all the divisional Oracle-related packages for users and developers such as Forms runtime environments, Developer Suite and Toad installations (6 months).
  • Technical advisor on a software selection project to shortlist and acquire an appropriate ETL tool to load large volumes of data into an Oracle database on a regular daily or weekly basis (3 months).
  • Technical consultant on a corporate project to start an offshore facility in India. Responsibilities included designing and testing the divisional Oracle-related packages for both business and IT users for use on vmWare virtual desktops based in the UK (3 months).
