knowledge and understanding to design and implement their own

Business Continuity programme. Also managed live system support
for a range of financial services systems.
1996 to 1997
- VEHICLE MANUFACTURER - TECHNICAL ARCHITECT
Provided
advice, consultancy and high-level support on Unix Systems
Design and Management issues to a team from UK and Germany who
were developing next generation of systems for client's European
dealership network. Hardware selection and certification,
liaison with client and prime contractor staffs, system
configuration and management. Maintained relationship with
application developers in Germany, to ensure that different
requirements from the various target countries were reviewed and
incorporated. High-level strategy and future development issues,
individual system design and implementation.
1995
- POSTAL SERVICES - SYSTEM INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN
Analysis of
requirements for European central support operation. Developed
integrated solution to allow effective remote support to a
number of independent service providers throughout Europe.
Included costed recommendations for hardware platforms, network
and communications interfaces, and systems management processes.
Solution accepted by client as the model for further
