BACKGROUND SUMMARY
University of
Technology of Troyes (2003-2007)
MSc in Materials –
Environment – Technologies.
She has
completed modules in many different subjects as well in
Material & Metallurgy Engineering, including Metallic and
Non-Metallic Material Manufacturing Processes and Treatments,
Metallurgy, Macro and Micro Structures Analysis, Mechanical and
Non Destructive Tests, Quality Controls and Standards,
Production Planning and Technology Management Engineering.
These modules were full courses consisting of 12-15 lectures
that were examined individually with a practical component as
continual assessment.
In addition, she
spent one exchange semester at the Budapest University of
Technology and Economics (Hungary). There, all the modules were
taught in English and included Environment Engineering
(Environment Impact Assessment, Environmental Protection),
Civil Engineering (Analysis of Bridges and Structures,
Advanced Foundations, Concrete Bridges and Timber Structures)
and introduction to Hungarian (culture and language).
This MSc degree
requires two compulsory industrial placements of at least 6
months each. She chose the first one as a Quality Technician.
The subject was to determine the main parameters in production
process, which could generate defects in the steel used for
automotive constructions. This included planning and
realisation of destructive tests, analysis and modelling
parameters.
The second industrial
placement is equivalent to a thesis, as it is due before
completing the MSc. Therefore, she chose to improve her
knowledge in Environmental Engineering and decided to carry out
an Environmental Impact Assessment in a maintenance railway
site. The objective was to achieve the completion of the first
Environmental Improvement Program required by ISO 14001, because
the railway site is due to be certified by 2010.
PRE-UNIVERSITY
Two industrial
placements were also compulsory to get the BSc degree. She
carried out the first one as a Quality Assistant. There, she
had to model a process of steel production. The second
placement was performed in an urban department. There, she had
to develop a model for the cost of the selective waste
management and to take into consideration the financial help
provided by the French government and the sale of waste.
During her summer
break in 2005 and 2006, she worked as a Summer Camp Director.
This involved recruiting and assessing the youth leaders (about
10 people), creating functional planning and entertaining
projects, managing the team in any situations and facing
emergencies, solving social-behaviour problems between the
youths, the adults or both, and all of these with respect to the
allocated budget and time frame.
During the previous
summer (2004), she worked as a First Aid Worker in a summer
camp. This included, working in team and facing emergency
situations. And from 2000 and 2003, she was a youth leader in
summer camps, where she worked in team and lead youth groups.
She
enjoys taking part in regular sporting activities including,
archery (two degree passed at the University) and football.
