co-ordination and support of Disney Blast web sites across 11
different countries. Working closely with external ISPs and
internal Disney client groups such as producers, designers and
web operations. He ensures a high-level technical standard and

and documentation to the Disney standard for the product

Heading a team of 6
people primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of
eight Compaq servers and two hundred mixed desktop PCs within a
centralised domain Intranet structure. To ensure any downtime is
minimised to a maximum of 5% of the working week and that all
disaster recovery operations and all backup procedures are
in-place and adhered to.
Working on eight
client sites within the UK to ensure smooth migration from a
legacy environment to a Y2K compliant for both server and
desktop. Jonathan’s duties include co-ordinating creation of NT
accounts, mail accounts, User Profiles/Policies, creating print
queues/shares, and administrating the NT domain(s) on a WAN. He
plans and manages the migration of shared legacy data from
Novell servers and NT servers. Jonathan also adopted the network
security, email and disaster recovery policies.
He provides in depth technical assistance to local IT helpdesk
used for the call logging system to deal with faults logged.
Jonathan ensured effective liaison between his project teams and
external teams such as Telephony and server/desktop teams.
Windows NT 4/2000
Windows 95/98/ME rollout for 200 users with a ‘Progress’ based
database and Office 97/2000. Also creating/adopting a ‘standard
build’, for both server and desktop alike. Installations were
carried out with use of ‘Ghost’ software. Jonathan also provided
2nd and 3rd line support after the initial rollout, sorting out
network problems, log on difficulties and difficulties
associated with roaming profiles. This involved carrying out
further Y2K Compliance
testing.
Responsible for
installing several NT Servers, NT workstations Win 95
(98, ME) and Win 3.1 clients with various Web browsers. Provided
desktop support for 80 on-site staff and 50 dial-up sales and
marketing staff across the country using NT 4, 2000/Win 95 (98
ME), Office 97/2000, Exchange and Outlook 97/2000 into a central
Exchange 5.5 server. Liasing with the other site IT
co-ordinators.
Jonathan provided
support to new NT users at any new sites ensuring that all
applications were tested and working. Troubleshooting Profiles,
drive mappings, user directories and printers. Making sure that
IT training was organised with relevant staff and that all IT
Policies were explained to new employees/clients.
He provided support
to all the clients/co-ordinators and made sure the desktop
applications were running smoothly on all Windows platforms, and
dealt with any network problems like giving access to Network
directories and log on problems. Supporting Outlook 97 as a
client for Exchange. Providing desktop and helpdesk support to
all Workstations for clients and other staff. Duties ranged from
installations to setting up new users on the network using both
NT 4 and Novell 4.11 administration tools. Sorting printing
troubles and sharing resources over the network. Also any
upgrades and service packs were installed such as upgrading NT
3.5 to NT 4, applying SP5 for NT, anti-virus/firewall software
and office 97, windows service packs were kept up to date on all
desktops.

workforce from using Apple Mac's to PCs. Duties included
