Research Project:
Low-temperature nucleation of ferric arsenate for the safe
disposal of arsenic.
Skills developed:
·
Independent research has developed analytical thought and
the ability to work autonomously to manage small tasks in a
long-term project effectively.
·
It has also enabled liaison with people to achieve results.
·
Interpersonal skills have been developed in an international
department.
·
Long report writing has been developed with the writing of a
thesis, as well as a number of consultancy reports to
industry.
·
This has also enabled collaboration with senior academic
staff, senior industrial partners and peers.
2002–2003
M.Sc. Soils and Environmental Pollution (Merit)
University of Reading, Reading
Modules included:
Environmental law, Geostatistical analysis of soils data,
and Risk assessment.
Skills developed:
Regular group working in teams of 3–6 improved my ability to
build effective working relationships. Independent project
work developed my analytical thought, numeracy and ability
to manage projects effectively.
