Manager (Contract), XXXX, Birmingham
XXXX is a
world leading firm providing a range of management and
consultancy services for the construction industry. Reporting to
the IT Partner and Managing Partner my responsibilities
included:

Management of a development project aimed at delivering a best
practice system and EDMS based on Microsoft SharePoint and .NET
technologies. Initially outsourced to a third party the
development was brought in-house requiring the set up of a new
development function with new processes and control mechanisms.
·
Review of the IT operational readiness capability against the
requirements of the new application and management of remedial
action including the implementation of ITIL.
·
Review of the current project delivery function resulting in the
creation of an IT Project Delivery team to improve the project
delivery capability for all IT projects.

Project
Manager (Contract), XXXX, Bristol
One of the UK’s
leading providers of life insurance, health insurance and
general insurance products. Reporting to the Remarkable Customer
Service (RCS) Programme Manager I was responsible for the
delivery of the New World Architecture (NWA) Programme. The
objective of this programme was to deliver improvements to the
performance and resilience of business critical financial
systems and CRM (Siebel). This included a review of existing
development and deployment processes and the implementation of
identified improvements.

(Contract), XXXX Trading Ltd, London
The UK’s leading
on-line classified advertising portal enabling users to search
for cars, homes and jobs. XXXX were involved in a joint venture
that involved replacing its existing platform and applications.
Reporting to the Operations Director, responsibilities included
a full review of the programme and IT operations and interim
management of the IT function.

Programme Manager (Contract), XXXX Technology Services UK Ltd,
Bristol
The infrastructure
delivery services arm of the XXXX Group. Reporting to the Head of
XXXX Tech Professional Services I was responsible for managing a
programme delivering strategic infrastructure improvements, the
deployment of applications to production systems and operational
readiness.

The UK’s sixth
largest grocery retailer. Reporting to the IT Director my,
responsibilities included a full review of the existing Quality
Assurance function and development of a three year strategy
aimed at improving the quality of developed applications. This
included interim management of the QA function and
implementation of new process improvements.

During this period
I delivered a number of projects for my clients including:

integrator and set up of QA function for their new US offices.

Review of existing development process for the UK’s leading
consumer magazine publisher and implementation of configuration,
release and change management processes and project delivery

Senior Consultant Project Manager, XXXX Consulting, London
The XXXX provided IT services and software solutions to the
finance sector. Responsibilities included the management of a
variety of projects including:

Development and implementation of a performance test strategy
for a UK on-line bank.
·
Project managed effective testing for a high profile on-line
share application system for a large UK on-line retail bank IPO;
for an on-line investment service offering share dealing and a
funds 'supermarket'; for a major on-line credit card launch and
for a new telephone banking call centre as well as a web-site
supporting on-line savings accounts.

2000 Programme Manager for large UK retail bank which entailed
the development and implementation of a millennium testing
strategy for over 300 systems.
·
Review of a European Investment bank’s Year 2000 programme and
development and implementation of a revised testing strategy for
Year 2000 readiness.
