IT Divisional Manager

I was brought in as an IT consultant during
October 2005 to prepare and agree a five year Information
Technology Strategy
Permanent employment was offered
immediately, and became effective on the 1st January
2006.
The major functions within my role as IT
Divisional Manager include:
Defining the IT Strategy for the group
Review existing systems, including
Application Software, Infrastructure Hardware and Networks
Restructuring the IT Department
Complete responsibility of the IT Division
within BMMI.
Evaluate and recommend the way forward for
the IT Platform within BMMI. This activity has resulted in a
recommendation to the Board of Directors to replace all Hardware
and Software applications. The desired way forward is Oracle ERP,
including:
Oracle Financials ( GL,AP,AR,INV,FA)
Oracle HRMS
Oracle Payroll
Oracle Supply Chain Management
Oracle Warehouse Management
Oracle Demand Planning
Oracle Supplier Portal and iStore
Oracle 10G Database
Hardware Infrastructure:
The recommended way forward for the
Hardware infrastructure is a migration from Windows based
environment to a Unix Enterprise architecture. The solution
proposed and approved by the board of directors is based on Sun
technologies utilizing the Sun Solaris Operating system.
The strategy and recommendations have been
approved by the Board and System Integrators are currently being
evaluated for the implementation of the new systems.
