My career bridges both information management and strategic thinking for business. I often refer to myself as an Enterprise Architect, although my experience ranges across business and management consulting in addition to information technology architecture work.

I have consulted to many different government departments and agencies in Australia covering Defence, the intelligence community, the parliament, aviation and the health and welfare sector. Gradually my interests have focussed more and more on the health care industry, health informatics and enterprise architecture.

In early 2004 I travelled to the UK to work with the [snip] as part of the start-up team for FJA's new contract as the Local Service Provider (LSP) in the Southern Cluster working with the UK National Health Service (NHS) to implement their electronic care records programme. This move to the UK was motivated by a desire to work in large programmes, introducing better approaches to healthcare services, no matter where they are in the world.

I believe my greatest skills are as a change agent and facilitator. I particularly enjoy facilitating business-modelling workshops, helping clients to formulate and understand their business plans and relating these plans to information management strategies.

I help clients to improve their business outcomes by working in smarter ways, and by using technologies that are appropriate for their organisational culture.  I act as the communications bridge between people who deliver technology and people who use it.
