Personal Profile
I am a successful
and professional manager with extensive experience in technical
operations, general management, project management and
electronic production. My experience is predominantly within the
telecommunications and electronic industries but my skills are
eminently transferable.
Over the years I have used the disciplines learnt through my
engineering background to develop my strategic and
organisational skills. I work well under pressure and I enjoy
new and difficult challenges. I have innovative and original
ideas and am able to devise short-term fixes and develop
long-term strategy. I am very much a “hands-on” manager; a
natural leader and an excellent communicator.
I have a broad range of theoretical and practical engineering
experience, including satellite communications, telecomm
networks, wireless broadband systems, CCTV and security systems.
I have implemented quality management systems and product
development processes and taken new products from development
through to approvals testing. I have delivered management and
technical training in the UK, Eastern Europe and the Far East.
Objectives
To continue to develop my management career preferably as a
general manager in a hi-tech communications or electronics
business. To find a new long-term challenge that will allow me
to utilise my management skills along with my communication,
technical, and organisational talents to the full benefit of the
Company, the Team and Myself.

Key Achievements |
|
·
|
Project managed the relocation and restructuring of a
£3M specialist RF cable assembly business, recruited a
strong and motivated production and technical team,
while maintaining output and profitability. I am
currently managing the operation through a period of
growth in a tough market. |
|
·
|
Over a three-year period including a competitive
pre-sales phase, I managed the role out of network
systems for 3G, Orange, One-2-One and Vodafone. This
included the development of a design, production and
assembly facility, taking OEM components and modules
from suppliers and turning them into bespoke customer
solutions. |
|
·
|
I managed
a two-year international telecommunications project,
based in Moscow, installing a network synchronisation
system for a Russian telecom service provider. Utilising
a local workforce supported by an ex-patriot team, this
was delivered on time, on budget and to specification. |
|
·
|
To meet a specific customer demand I developed a 24hr/7
day support service network. Once in place, I led the
team of skilled and dedicated technicians providing
quality solutions to blue chip clients, including BT,
Cable and Wireless and T Mobile. |
|
·
|
I Introduced a trainee programme for junior staff during
a period of significant growth, ensuring that the
company’s strategic plans were fulfilled through a
highly motivated and appropriately skilled workforce. |
|
·
|
I was responsible for managing key relationships with
global manufacturers and suppliers, including
negotiating Service Level Agreements, setting and
maintaining Quality standards and finding solutions to
the complex barriers to success. |
|
|
I successfully delivered a multi-million pound project
for BAE Systems, providing a complete satellite ground
station for the MOD within a two-year time frame. |
