Project
Manager
2005 – 2007
Responsible for delivering high quality bespoke training
projects for soldiers and assisting with readiness evaluation
for troops deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Designed training for groups of up to 800 soldiers, liaising
with commanders and constructing complex, bespoke training
packages to prepare soldiers for operations overseas.

Assisted with the readiness evaluation of Brigade organisations
(up to 3500 personnel) for deployment overseas.
·
Developed and implemented a biannual training course for 30
staff, coordinating lecturers from across the UK and providing a
flexible, detailed course specific to urban operations.
Feedback showed the course to be highly successful in delivering
up to date training tailored for the current environment.
Key Achievement:
Delivered a 2.5 million pound project to the British Army as the
end-user specialist, providing advice and reconciling the needs
of the technical providers and the soldiers who would use the
system. The system is now operational in three sites across the
UK and is demonstrably improving the low level skills of
soldiers in the urban environment.
Training Manager
2003 – 2005
Worked within a small team to deliver timely and accurate
activities in support of a commander, often under significant
time pressure; Responsible for the training and career
progression of 100 soldiers, ensuring they achieved their
maximum potential.

Successfully co-ordinated the training to convert 100 soldiers
to a new radio system, prior to successfully validating the
system during a major overseas exercise.
·
Trained and operated with a small team to deliver timely and
accurate operational activities in support of a commander, often
under considerable time pressure and with significant
complicating factors.
Key Achievement:
Managed a multi-million pound conversion project in Basra,
co-ordinating American, British and Iraqi requirements and
liaising to resolve issues across language and culture to
construct the Regional Police Centre and Joint Operations
Control Centre (JOCC) in Basra. The centre became operational
within six months and has recently been handed over to Iraqi
control.
Troop Manager
2000
– 2003
Responsible for the day-to-day management of 30 soldiers,
writing annual reports and providing impartial, individually
tailored career advice. Responsible for the training of 100
soldiers in both long and short term career requirements.

Co-ordinated the fire cover for Tyne and Wear Region during the
2002 fire strikes, operating as a regional shift manager in the
Joint Operations Centre to co-ordinate effective response to
life threatening situations.

Selected to run a leadership training course, testing and
evaluating 30 young soldiers to establish their readiness to be
promoted.
·
Trained and led a twelve man team on operations in Northern
Ireland, winning praise for leading the most effective of the
eighteen teams under the command of the Regiment.
·
Planned and organised entertainment for social events of up to
300 people, ensuring appropriate entertainment was arranged and
delivered in a timely manner, with extremely favourable
feedback.
Key Achievement:
Successfully converted 100 staff onto a new career structure in
a 5 month period, the first of four sub-units to successfully
convert despite the additional friction caused by the need to
cover the 2002 fire strike during the conversion process.

1999 – 2000
Key Achievement:
Led a team of 30 peers to win the final major competition,
winning both parts of the competition out of a total of nine
teams competing.
