project
My biggest key areas of responsibility were looking after our
Exchange 5.5 email system which was my sole responsibility, also
developing a windows 2003 active directory to migrate from
Windows NT. I also had sole responsibility for spam
filtering/security software such as antivirus and the backup
solution for the UK.
My other key areas include providing technical assistance to
project managers and external solution providers to ensure that
projects and solutions are planned carefully and try to
proactively foresee problems such as compatibility issues and
business requirements. I provide assistance to our central
network team based in Amsterdam completing local tasks including
migrating systems and servers to new vlan’ed architecture for
different campaigns moving away from a large flat network.
I am also responsible for any infrastructure changes including
network changes such as reallocating ports on our switches into
different VLAN’s for different campaigns, maintaining an IP
address list, implementing security updates amongst other
ongoing maintenance tasks.

and the nagios alerting system to alert us of various network
performance issues and down time.

future requirements for new servers and services and it is
generally my duty to design and implement any new servers to
provide for this requirement and ensure our team knowledge is
actively updated from my own to ensure a better service to our
end users. Support for these services to our end users is a job
for our team of I.T. Technicians of which I am an active part
of, this is an excellent team which I am quite proud to be a
