Senior Manager HR Systems                                                 2003 – 2006 

Responsible for the development, performance, auditing, financial control, support and maintenance of all IT systems associated with the Human Resources Department at [snip].

Responsibilities 

·       Developed the online eHR strategy ensuring cost effective solutions to improve [snip] business performance with regard to HR Systems.

·       Managed the overall implementation and Change Management of the Oracle [snip] HRMS system at [snip] including the development and monitoring of a robust project plan and a skilled and motivated cross-functional project team.

·       Collaborated with the IT and HR department stakeholders to develop Business Cases and prioritise the HR systems portfolio to ensure maximum payback on HR Systems and Data Reporting.

·       Managed the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans for the HR Department. 

Key achievements 

¨    Delivered the new online learning capability across [snip] through the Oracle iLearning product, enabling all [snip] staff to do their training online from their workplace or in some instances from home.

¨    Project managed and implemented the Simplification of HR Systems and Data project at [snip]. A £2 million investment approved by the [snip] Board which enabled legacy systems to be decommissioned.

¨    Produced a robust HR Systems roadmap which was reviewed and prioritised regularly by the Stakeholders within the HR Department enabling agreed and coordinated development of HR systems.

¨    Delivered the new Employee Data Warehouse (Teradata) providing Business Information to the HR Department giving online access to various levels of data by authorised managers and data analysts.

¨    Implemented a new Staff Travel online project enabling staff to manage their staff travel nominees online through Employee Self Service.

¨    Delivered many key systems across the HR Department including a new online recruitment system and a Criminal Record checking system.

¨    Ensured that high project management controls were in place for all projects on the HR systems portfolio

¨    Co-ordinated and implemented the rollout of systems training, communications and integration of new systems. 

Lead IT Resource Manager                                                                  2000 –  2003 

Responsible for the management of a specific group of approx.105 skilled IT staff forming part of the IT Resource Pool at [snip]. Took a lead role in the development of IT technical staff at Heathrow and ensured that these resources were utilised in the most efficient manner across the IT portfolio.

·       Managed a Centre of Excellence requiring a strong focus on individual development and coaching

Central Services Project Integration Manager                             1995 – 2000 

Managed the IT Central Services systems relating to new Business Area applications. Ensured systems were Infrastructurally compliant within internal standards and all necessary areas of Central Services were committed to successful delivery. Excellent understanding of full lifecycle methodologies similar to Prince 2.

Responsibilities 

·       Close liaison with Business Areas to scope project delivery processes.

·       Provided portfolio management support.

·       Ensured all applications were ready for operational use.

IT Migration Manager                                                                             1994 - 1995 

Successfully managed the  IT Migration Team responsible for  the redeployment of 102 [snip]’ staff from SITA to mainstream [snip] during the rundown of the Fares systems.  These were staff seconded to SITA responsible for running the Fares system for [snip] and were heavily unionised. 

Responsibilities 

·       Provided support, advice and feedback for all levels of staff CV preparation, interview and presentation skills in readiness for job selection.

·       Counselled individuals, building morale and formed supportive relationships with them.

·       Overall closure of Pegasus House involving close liaison with [snip] computer centres, Property department and Trades Unions.

·       Responsible for local [snip] management support for 72 administration staff, 28 technical staff, 2 managers and approx. 40 contractors. 

Key achievements 

¨    Successfully managed the timely re-deployment of 102 [snip]’ staff to new jobs. My team received an IT Service Award from [snip] for its achievement.

¨    Maintained a motivated workforce during very unsettled and unsure times, ensuring that core staff remained to support the business needs of SITA.

¨    Ensured that SITA maintained the efficient operation of the Fares Business during closure.

¨    Effective liaison with Trades Unions ensured speedy resolution of problems with no industrial conflict. 

Project Manager Fares Systems                                                          1990 - 1994 

¨    Delivered the successful phased implementation of the World Online Library of Fares  system for [snip]’ Pricing department. Responsible for 25 development staff and a £2m project approved by [snip]’ Board.

¨    Key player in the sale of the Fares Business to SITA from [snip] and helped to make the transition for staff seconded to SITA as smooth as possible.

Joined [snip] Computer Trainee scheme direct from Leeds University and performed various roles thoughout these years from Systems Programmer, Design Lead, Team Leader and Project Manager.

Interests:- - All types of outward bound activities including walking, cycling, skiing and most sports. Extensively travelled throughout the world with some notable achievements. Scaling Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Toubkal in the High Atlas Mountains and 4 man Bobsleigh being recent highlights. 

Personal:- Single with a home in the UK although willing to work in a position which involves long or short term travel within the UK or abroad. One son aged 19.
