PROFILE
I am 36 years of age and of British nationality. I benefit from
a total of over 17 years experience within IT. I have a wide
variety of skills and experience, particularly in bringing the
benefits of IT to forward looking businesses. Being a
pragmatist, I enjoy identifying and delivering realistic and
value adding solutions. I have a ‘hands-on’ style, both in
people and technology management. Having worked for nearly 15
years in modern, sophisticated manufacturing companies, 8 of
these as I.S. Manager, I have developed considerable knowledge
in the use and application of modern IT systems. I have very
strong networking and operating systems skills. I am married
with children and enjoy family life.

June 99 – Oct 02 IS Manager,

As MIS Manager I am fully responsible for all aspects of
technology in the company. I manage a team of six people and as
a team we support about 250 users, some of which are mobile
salesman. A key area for support is a customer facing call
centre manned by circa 30 operatives.
My principal responsibilities include:

Establishing and delivering IT strategy to match [snip]

On going support and management of ERP system.

£900k).

Development of B2B and B2C e-commerce strategy and delivery.

version 8.3.8, including substantial BPR project.

switch supporting Call centre, unified messaging and CTI
technologies.

Aug 97 – Mar 99 Head of IS,

The Rural Development Commission was the government’s agency for
economic and social development in rural England.
As Head of IS I restructured an over-stretched IT team of six
people providing substantially improved service levels to
internal customers. I managed a budget of circa £700K and an
infrastructure that included HP9000 Unix machines running Oracle
v7, 24 NT Servers and nearly 300 desktops running NT Workstation
v4, Windows 95 and Windows 98. The bespoke Oracle application
used by the Commission was delivered using Citrix Metaframe
technology.
My principal responsibilities included:

Establishing strategy definition and delivery.

IT team.

92 – Aug 97 Information Systems Manager,

As IS Manager, I was fully responsible for all aspects of the
strategy, use and purchase of IT within the company and managed
three members of staff. I was a key member of the senior
management team of this forward moving manufacturing company
involved with all aspects of the business. I have a good
understanding of manufacturing and an in depth experience of MRP/ERP
systems.
My principal responsibilities included:

Communication
In my role as IS Manager, I report to the Financial Director. I
communicate well and I am comfortable interacting with all level
of the business from the Board down. I am a strategic thinker
and I am able to translate this into tangible, meaningful
presentations. I have a thorough understanding of business
priorities and drivers and can communicate issues and solution
effectively to all.
Organisation
Having to work to demanding time constraints under a constant
degree of pressure has taught me to prioritise assignments to
reach strict deadlines. The MIS department is set aggressive
targets, it is only through good organisation that these targets
are achieved.
Enthusiasm
I have always put considerable energy and enthusiasm into all of
my activities believing this to be the only way to achieve
worthwhile results. I make sure I reach the targets that have
been set for me – or I have set myself.
