James spent 6 months working with the Integration Authority as an UML Modeller. Providing MODAF views in order for Military Procurements to pass through the required “gates” and to provide tools for evaluation of ongoing procurement viability.

In 2006 James worked with the London Cluster Local Service Provider (BT Capital Care Alliance) to develop a Six Sigma Programme of work, to improve the management of the service delivery of the National Care Records Solution in the Capital, working with the three players, GE Health, BT and Connecting for Health

In 2004 – 2005 James worked on the National Programme for IT, James worked with the Eastern Cluster Local Service Provider as a Functional Lead. This broad role has encompassed a variety of activities from general project planning, GAP analysis, business process redesign, technical configuration, issue management, assigning work packages and ensuring these were executed, education and awareness and training and development.

More specifically as a member of a diverse project team, James maintained robust communication through informal/ formal meetings and the use of status and highlight reports, both with the local community and with the central LSP. James has responsibility for the tailoring of a national product to the needs of a local Health Community (where possible) this meant engaging staff at all levels, managing conflicting needs and priorities, and managing the development of solutions to issues, whether these be technical or process driven.

James previously worked as a Project Manager for Torex (now part of iSOFT) and for the NHS for 6 years in a wide variety of roles, from Project Management, Business Change and Benefits Realisation to working on the procurement of a Trust Electronic Patient Record, Information Management and Clinical Audit. His ability to meet agreed timescales (often with financial milestones), carry out negotiations with all levels of staff, together with his drive and enthusiasm, has been key to his success.
