A large portion of my time at [snip] was spent contracted to Department of Education and Training, which is the 4th biggest network in Australia.  

January 06 – June 06: Systems Engineer
  • Customisation, implementation and support of HP Openview service desk for various clients including Department of Education and Training, Edith Cowan University, WA Police Service and Rio Tinto.
  • Customisation and implementation of HP Radia Suite at Department of Education and Training
  • MS SQL server and Oracle database management.

May 04 – June 06: Scripting/programming at Department of Education and Training

  • Developed various applications to aid in quicker and more efficient problem resolution for other IT staff, including integration with back end databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MS Access).
  • Created Perl/VBS/VB6/VB/.net scripts to perform various tasks including deployment of files/software and remotely managed around 40,000 education devices, including WMI and database scripting.
  • Performed database maintenance and reports on MS SQL server.
  • Knowledge of T-SQL.

Consulting for the Western Australian Golf League – March 2004 

The Western Australian Golf League required a software application that would allow them to perform a variety of tasks including storing club, player and game data, automatically calculating and adjusting handicaps and producing reports.  

In consulting for this organisation I developed a database program with MS Access and VBA that met all their requirements. As a result of the program’s success, over 50 golf clubs now utilise it all year round for the management of their club data.

Utilising a MS Access database and VB coding, I upgraded an existing client and communications database, added new features to make it more user friendly and fixed some problems to make it run more efficiently,. I also created MS Access reports and produced system flow charts for the organisation.
