a middle tier system to comply with FSA guidelines.
Set up the development environment, collated all the
information required and created the work estimate.
Developed the applications infrastructure using XML,
XML Schema, C# and Web Services. Had to quickly
learn the interfaces of the back end systems.

Developed a number of core
components for a new site for Three Rivers District
Council. Used User Controls (ascx files), VB
classes, C# classes and T-SQL Stored Procedures.

Set up the configuration and
release management process for [snip]. Project
contained a number of different components that had
to be installed and configured on three separate
test environments ensuring each was set up
identically.
Developed from scratch two
online, multiple-choice qualification tests using
C#, SQL Server 2000 and ASP.NET.

Redeveloped an application
for formatting and printing Medical Survey forms for
[snip] and [snip]. Took the Technical Lead role. The
project was technically complex due to the print
interfaces to Xerox printers requiring extensive
Postscript work and using VB6 and XML.

Designed, estimated and
developed, a system to track the relationships and
cost expenditure between different army divisions
for the [snip]. Wrote the entire system in time to
meet the end of their yearly accounting cycle.
Created an OLAP style database using ASP for input
and Excel as the reporting tool.

Developed a Visual Basic
Script that automated deployment of a staged web
site. Scripted exports and Imports from CMS Server,
Internet Information Server (IIS) and SQL Server.

Set up the project’s

each was setup in an identical way.
Developed a number of custom
VB6 and C# components.

Developed part of the
Council’s new portal site. Wrote a PDF library and
Exchange Server Calendar Interface. Used .NET
Framework 1.0 Beta 2, ASP.NET, VB.NET, IIS 5, SQL
Server 2000, CDO and Exchange 5.5.
Had extensive support from
Microsoft providing an invaluable learning
experience. As a result gained an excellent
understanding of .NET and an ability to work round
its quirks.

As part of a team redeveloped
[snip] Procurement Portal in 3 months after the
previous supplier failed to meet the customer needs.
Helped to ensure all of the points in a failed
security audit were rectified. Worked extremely long
hours to meet the deadline. Took sections of source
code and reversed engineered specifications in UML.
Technologies used included
JavaScript, ASP, Visual Basic COM objects and SQL
Server 2000. Worked extensively with all these
technologies during the project.

Designed and developed a
registration system for retired military aircraft.
Used ASP and SQL Server. As the main Parity
representative took responsibility for requirements,
estimates, development and supervised contract
staff.

Designed part of an
application server for the Post Office, part of a
kiosk development project in partnership with Cap
Gemini. Used UML and Rational Rose. Gained
experience of UML.
IIS, COM+ and SQL Server
2000. Communication between the layers used XML.
Rendered XML into HTML using XSLT.

Filled a skills gap in HQ
Land’s own staff. Took responsibility for a number
of intranet projects. Wrote each project with Active
Server Pages (ASP), Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS)
and SQL server. Met with staff to assess
requirements. Designed and implemented the system to
meet the requirements.

Developed an intranet
extension to [snip] company secretarial database.
Supervised a junior developer. Took responsibility
for the project ensuring and ensured that all work
was delivered to the customers satisfaction. Used
ASP and COM objects to interface to a proprietary
database system.

Developed part of the new
mission critical Customer Acquisition system. Used a
three-tier design with Visual Basic, MTS and
Ingress. Developed a number of the core Business
Objects required for processing customer application
forms. Ensured that component were robust and
scalable so that in the future, they could be used
with ASP to provide customer registration forms on
the internet.

Worked on the Requirements
Analysis phase of a large project in the government
sector. Took responsibility for meeting with the
users of the current system and capturing the
business and system process. Used the UML toolkit to
model these processes in the SELECT Enterprise case
tool.

Took over the construction of
a system to manage a new contract for the collection
and delivery of Barclays’ Bank internal mail. Used
Visual Basic and SQL Server to provide a swift
interface for users to record the details of each
collection round, what was collected and where its
destination. Took responsibility for ensuring the
work was completed to schedule.

Designed and developed a
global IT budgeting system. Worked closely with the
customer to identify the business requirements.
Single headedly built an Excel worksheet for the
Heads of each region to fill in. Wrote a
consolidation routine to convert the returns into a
global IT budget, including currency conversions and
statistical analysis.

Analysed and documented an
existing system within the company. Placed emphasis
on attaining a full understanding of the business
requirements addressed by the system, and
documenting its structure to a level of detail
sufficient for future support and maintenance
