PROFILE
A project and
[snip] manager with over 15 years experience (covering programmes,
support, infrastructure, deployment, and development) more
recently gained within investment banking and the health sector.
Able to consistently deliver global, regional and local
programmes, providing high-availability infrastructure and
managing technical teams. A natural international facilitator
and communicator, at all levels. A strong team player and a
motivational leader, motivated by professional loyalty,
strategic planning, achieving goals, being given ownership and
making work enjoyable.
PERSONAL
OBJECTIVE
An [snip] or senior
project management role. Interested in roles requiring strategic
planning and effective leadership. Aiming to gain new
experiences and take on new challenges.
SELECTED
ACHIEVEMENTS
§
Improved the effectiveness and perception of EMEA II [snip] within
[snip].
Achieved through improved working relationships and pro-active
inter-department communications. [snip] was a critical success
factor in most, if not all, of the company’s business
programmes. [snip] stability increased, moral was improved
and [snip] was seen as meeting the company’s rapidly growing needs.
§
Persuaded the Group CFO and CIO, soon after arriving at
[snip],
that a key financial application would benefit from a re-write
instead of the planned improvements (which would not have been
as effective). The re-write, although costing more and taking
a few months longer to implement, greatly improved client
billing turn-around (improving cash-flow) and also increased
moral within the Finance team.
§
Successfully managed the e-mail and groupware merger for over
65,000 BNP and Paribas users. Defined the global product
strategy, implemented solutions, re-defined the global support
structure and managed the technical architecture and support
teams.
[snip] was seen
externally as a united organisation from day one, realised
improvements to the quality of international service and
achieved the targeted reduction in headcount.
§
Redressed an issue with inconsistent gateway security standards
and enabled a new external access approval process/board.
Improved external security, created a web based knowledge base
of all external access points and ensured that a common standard
was followed globally.
§
Created a standard project management methodology, to ensure
that Projects were managed to a common standard. Improved
overall perception of projects, improved project flow and
enabled stakeholders to be better informed.
§
Managed a major Y2K project to secure Paribas from potential
system attacks over the critical weekend. Implemented a
virus-risk e-mail quarantine process, a Browsing anti-virus
solution, a dedicated Y2K weekend intrusion monitoring team and
created intrusion attack response processes, to very short
timeframes. Paribas was prepared for any system virus and
security threats.
§
Migrated 2,000 users from cc:Mail to Lotus Notes. Including data
migration, server migration/deployment, desktop migration,
deployment team management and user training. Project was
achieved on time, to budget and with minimal user disruption. In
addition, strong vendor relationships were created.
§
Assisted
[snip]
outsourcing handover and rebuilt the European Notes Support
team, after all permanent staff had left (team went from 7 to
2). Recruited new staff and retrained existing staff.
Maintained ongoing support and continued upgrade activities,
during this challenging period.
