still use part of their 'legacy' Apache systems.
Designed and developed the .NET
architecture for an ASP.NET/VB.NET Online Servicing web
application to allow Budget customers to login and review
their policy details, add new vehicles, add new drivers

Designed and developed a VB.NET Winforms
application to test new web services deployed by Budget to
be used by Car Insurance Quotation Aggregators such as
confused.com etc. The program made asynchronous calls to the
web services to simulate peak demands etc.
Designed and developed a Motor Insurance
Quotation site to be used in Post Offices. The system was
developed in a very short timescale using Visual Studio 2005
(i.e. .NET 2.0) and Web Services to provide access to the
RPG/iSeries quotation engine.
Developed ASP.NET AJAX web controls to
allow rapid development of different brands of the Budget
Insurance website to allow complete flexibility on
ordering/inclusion of questions to be asked during the
quotation process etc.
Developed AJAX controls to improve the
responsiveness of various parts of the site.
Used VB.NET and C# to develop Custom
Controls to hide the business logic from junior developers
and designers who will be using the controls to build sites
for the Budget Insurance affiliates and brands.
Used VB.NET and C# to develop a Quote
business object to hide the web service layer from all the
