[snip] is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is a regional network of 16 veterinary laboratories, in England, Scotland and Wales. [snip] provides all sectors of the animal health industry with animal disease surveillance, diagnostic services and veterinary scientific research. 

Responsibilities and achievements:

·          Designing, developing, and documenting complex spreadsheets for use within the department

·          Collating test data on behalf of [snip] IT unit

·          Overseeing the implementation of new projects, proving practical IT related feedback.

·          Installing hardware, both networked & stand alone, on behalf of [snip] IT unit

·          Troubleshooting day to day IT related problems within the department, interacting with the [snip] IT unit when necessary 

2006 – Date     Scientist 

Full time permanent employment, initially for 12 months on a fixed term basis, providing laboratory testing within [snip] Shrewsbury’s Scrapie Unit.
