Career History
|
|
|
|
Senior
asp.Net developer (contract) |
I developed a
number of SSRS Reports for monitoring the utilisation of
a client’s transportation fleet. This involved designing
de-normalised database tables and stored procedures to
populate them from normalised tables. I also developed
enhancements for a Fire Arms management application used
by a number of police forces in the UK, using Asp.net
2.0 C#, and Sql Server 2000. |
|
|
|
|
.Net mid-tier
developer (contract) |
I developed web
services using WCF and C#.net . I also
collaborated in the development of software for Tesco
POS tills, using Win Forms and C#.net. |
|
|
|
|
Asp.net
consultant (contract) |
I undertook a
lead role in developing SEO landing pages for
Expedia.co.uk using ASP.net 2.0 C#. I joined the
team at a time when the project was behind schedule and
experiencing technical difficulties, and I helped steer
it back on course. I designed and developed supporting
web services and Sql Server stored
procedures, and a caching mechanism that allowed 150
concurrent page hits with minimal server resource
utilization. |
|
|
|
|
Asp.net
consultant (contract) |
I successfully
led a migration and re-factoring analysis of
Dolphin’s www.flightscanner.biz application. I put
forward recommendations for moving the code base from
ASP.net 1.1 / C# to .net 2.0, as well as
putting forward recommendations for re-factoring the
application to make use of asp.net 2.0 specific
technologies, e.g. custom viewstate management, master
pages and ATLAS.
|
|
|
|
|
Senior
asp.net developer (contract) |
I returned to
UCLES as a .net developer and developed SOA based
web applications using an Agile XP methodology.
The web applications were developed using ASP.net
1.1/2.0 C# and Sql Server 2000, and allowed schools and
colleges to enter their students for exams (e.g. GCSE,
A-Levels), and to view results.
I installed and
configured Cruise Control .net, NUnit and Nant to
produce continuous integration builds for a number of
currently running development projects.
|
|
|
|
|
Start-up of a
business venture |
I formed and led
a small team to develop a CMS based hosting
service for schools that allows non-technical school
staff to author and manage their school’s website with
ease. I acted as the project manager, systems designer
and developer, and led a small team of web designers
that I had recruited myself.
The system was
developed using ASP.Net 1.1/2.0 C# and Sql
Server 2005, and is hosted on a Windows server at a
data centre. An example of a school using the system can
be found at
|
|
|
|
|
Senior
asp.net developer (contract) |
I returned to
[snip] after taking a 5 month break.
I authored the
physical design of a UML specified web
application for managing external assessment resource
data (examiners). I achieved this by defining a database
schema, and stored procedure and web service interfaces.
I successfully led a small team of developers to
implement the initial phase of development using
ASP.net 2.0 C# for the UI, ASP.net 1.1 for web
services, and SQL Server 2000.
Other
responsibilities
.Net
developer selection and interviewing for developer
vacancies at UCLES. |
|
|
|
|
Senior
asp.net developer (contract) |
My role was
senior .net developer and mentor.
I provided
developer support across all tiers of an SOA
based web application used by candidates to view their
examination results online. It was developed using
ASP.net C#, .Net Web Services and SQL Server.
I designed and developed web service messages, web
methods and SQL stored procedures for candidate
authentication, reference data and results retrieval.
I developed an
automated process for refreshing production SQL server
databases using data from a master Oracle database
separated by a firewall. It was developed using .Net Web
Services, .Net Windows service and MSMQ. I
designed and developed the web service messages, web
methods and the Windows service. |
|
|
|
|
Senior
asp.net developer (contract) |
My roles were
Application Architect and Senior Developer. My
responsibilities were further fulfilled by facilitating
code reviews, mentoring less experienced
developers, third party product evaluation, technical
documentation, and provision of consultative advice
on matters regarding .Net and SQL Server 2000.
Web Content
Management
I succeeded in
designing and developing a Web Content management system
for use by [snip] Central Office and Regional Offices
It was developed
using ASP.net/C# and SQL Server 2000. The
architecture of a leading Enterprise Content Management
system was used as a design pattern upon which
the WCM was based. The business tier was object
oriented and mapped directly to an object-relational
database schema. Content was published as XML, with
individual websites transforming the XML to fit
their brand/service image. |
|
|
|
|
|
Much of this
time was spent obtaining the MCAD.net certification. Use
transcript ID 674945 and the access code
mcpkbaig to confirm certification |
