but also keeps track of all the customers and services provided
to them.

Redesign their software and build it on the
new technology ASP .NET. The database was analyzed to be
defective in many ways and did not satisfy UPS' requirements. I
redesigned the database that would not only satisfy their
immediate requirements but also support perceived changes over
the next few years.

Customer:
The first phase was for us to study the
[snip] billing system, its operation and the final bill design.
On completion of the documentation of the billing process a new
bill design was proposed. This design would not only save paper
and printing time but also improve the processing.
The second phase was to design a smaller
system for the Prepaid service. This was a year long process
where I evaluated PABX systems, Data Servers and Servers for the
Billing purpose. Being the only technical consultant I had the
responsibility of making sure that my recommendations were
excellent and would grow with the company. I would study all
the alternative systems thoroughly and then make my comparison
chart and a recommendation report to the management. Even
though I went against the recommendations of senior staff of
[snip] the systems I proposed went beyond their expectations. The
PABX started with 12 user and went upto 40 users working 3
shifts 24 hours a day. The Data Server would initially support
30 users and later supported 300 with only upgrades to RAM.
This system ended up accommodating 3 more boxes hosting services
like Great Plains Dynamics Accounting Database, MS Exchange,
File Server and Call Accounting Warehouse.
The third phase was during the launch of
the Prepaid service. Here I was given the responsibility of
proposing the work flow and control structure for the newly
setup Prepaid service. Once the proposed structure was approved
I was now given the task of educating the staff on their roles
and training them on how to use the various systems.
